Tuesday 6th January – Apia, Samoa

Morning

• Arrive in Apia, the capital of Samoa, at your convenience and transfer to Karl’s Getaway Hotel.

Afternoon

• We make our way to Mulifuna Wharf and take a 20-minute boat ride to Manono Island, located between Upolu and Savai’i. As Samoa’s third largest and most populous island, Manono, with its 900 residents and no roads or cars, provides a unique insight into Samoan life beyond Apia. Upon arrival, a local guide will take us on a scenic coastal walk to meet friendly locals. Afterward, enjoy a refreshing swim and a delicious lunch with stunning views of the Apolima Strait.
• Traditional dinner and overnight at Karl’s Getaway.

Wednesday 7th January | Tuesday 6th January – Samoa – American Samoa

• Morning
• Get ready for an exhilarating adventure! At 7:00am, we will depart the hotel for Faleolo International Airport to meet our pilot, who will be waiting to take us away on a Twin Commander 690B. After a brief orientation, we will take off at 10:00am on our private charter flight to Pago Pago, the capital of American Samoa, the world’s 11th least visited country. During the flight, we can debate which country list is definitive. We’ll cross the international dateline and land at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 6th—“Great Scott!”
• Check in at the Tradewinds Hotel.

Afternoon

• We’ll board a brightly painted aiga bus for a day tour of American Samoa. Our first stop is the iconic Tramway site, followed by the National Park visitor center. From there, we will ascend Afono Pass for views of Rainmaker Mountain and Pago Pago harbor. Next, we’ll visit the charming villages of Afono and Vatia, and admire Pola Island. Our journey concludes at Flower Pot Rock, ending at Utulei Beach, where you can enjoy complimentary refreshments, WiFi, and cultural activities. Feel free to rent a kayak or try stand-up paddleboarding for added fun!
• Dinner and drinks at Flying Fox Gastropub, American Samoa’s only local brewery with a delicious food menu ranging from asian fusion to craft burgers.
• Overnight at the Tradewinds Hotel.

Wednesday 7th January | Thursday 8th January – American Samoa – Niue

Morning

• Early breakfast at Tradewinds Hotel.
• Depart Tradewinds Hotel at 7:30am for a 9:00am take-off via private charter, soaring over azure lagoons, lush islands, and colorful coral reefs, crossing the international dateline again, and arriving at 10:30am on Thursday, 8 January in Niue, a New Zealand free association territory, and the world’s 3rd least visited country. We will be met at the airport by our local guides for a Niue-style “meet and greet.”
• Transfer to the Scenic Matavai Resort to check in and freshen up.

Afternoon

• Our local guides will lead us on a special day tour of Niue’s iconic locations. Known as the “Rock of Polynesia,” this stunning island features the world’s highest coral atoll and rugged cliffs. During low tide, we will explore expansive coral reefs and swim in the enchanting Matapa Chasm, once a royal swimming pool. Our tour continues with a trek along the magnificent Talava Arches, showcasing nature’s artistry. If time permits, we will end our adventure with an exhilarating swim alongside playful dolphins!
• Niue cultural dinner experience with performance.
• Overnight at the Matavai Resort.

Friday 9th January – Niue – Wallis

Morning

• 9:00am departure on our exclusive private charter flight to the enchanting island of Wallis, where we’ll touch down at 10:00am. This hidden gem is part of the French territory of Wallis and Futuna, located a staggering 16,000 km from France. With only 100 tourists gracing its shores each year, we can proudly say we will officially be in least-least-visited territory!
• Transfer to our private cottage to check in and freshen up.

Afternoon

• Our local guide will take us to explore the hidden Polynesian paradise of Wallis. We will start by visiting the ancient villages of Utuleve and Atuvalu to learn about Wallisian culture, explore traditional homes, watch locals create handicrafts, and enjoy a local lunch. Next, we will hike the rim of the scenic volcanic crater Lake Lalolalo for stunning panoramic views. Our tour concludes at the impressive Tongan Fortress of Talietumu, restored by French archaeologists in 1997 and built around 1450, which was the last stronghold of the Tongans before their defeat in 1535.
• Dinner and drinks overlooking the perfect blue waters of Wallis lagoon at Restaurant Le Paradis.
• Overnight at private cottage.

Saturday January 10th – Wallis – Apia

• 9:00am departure on our private charter flight back to Samoa, where Group 6 concludes upon our 11am arrival in Apia.
• Group A members: tour concludes in Apia. YPT are able to arrange post-tour accommodation or extra activities in Apia if you want to extend your trip.
• Group B members: catch the 8:40pm Air New Zealand flight to Auckland, arriving at 12:50am. Transfer to the Ibis Auckland Airport

Sunday January 11th – Auckland, New Zealand

Morning

• We have a chance to sleep and enjoy a late breakfast before heading out for the day’s activities.
• Depart for Waitemata Harbour for a leisurely sailing excursion aboard the Pride of Auckland. We will take in the sights of Auckland, the City of Sails as we cruise along inner Waitemata Harbour. Our friendly, local guides will take us under Auckland Harbour Bridge while discussing the city’s landmarks and history as you relax with a fresh coffee, tea, hot chocolate and complimentary snacks.
• Dinner and drinks on Waitemata Harbour.
• Overnight at hotel Ibis Auckland Airport.

Monday January 12th | 11th – Auckland – Papeete 

Morning

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Depart the hotel at 12:00pm to catch the 4:05pm Air Tahiti flight to Papeete, capital of Tahiti, the main island of French Polynesia, crossing the international dateline and arriving at 10:00pm on January 11th.
• Overnight in Tahiti.
