Join YPT and discover Algeria – Africa’s largest country and one of its most overlooked gems. Though often compared to its French-speaking neighbours Morocco and Tunisia, Algeria remains refreshingly untouched by mass tourism.
Algeria is one of the most challenging countries in Africa to visit, primarily due to its complex tourist visa process. However, at YPT, we provide full visa support, simplifying the process and guaranteeing your visa for a hassle-free experience.
During your adventure with us, you’ll explore Algeria’s rich history, from the Roman Empire to contemporary Muslim movements, the French occupation, and the local resistance that led to Algeria’s independence. If you haven’t seen the film Battle of Algiers, we highly recommend it. On the tour, we’ll visit the Martyrs’ Memorial, a landmark that rivals North Korea’s War Museum.
Despite Algeria’s vast size, we’ll cover a lot of ground. Highlights include the incredibly well-preserved ancient Roman ruins of Djemila, the majestic “City of Bridges” in Constantine, and the mysterious traditional villages of Ghardaia – the gateway to the Sahara. Each day will bring a variety of unique and unforgettable experiences.
This tour can be combined with our Libya November Tour and our Mauritania Iron Ore Train November Tour. Make the most of your trip to this region of Africa by joining both tours!
