For exciting road trip aficionados and country collectors alike, join us as we take you to five of the countries in Central Asia, that is Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
During the tour you’ll be visiting the main highlights of these countries, giving you the opportunity to sample the flavours of each nation as well as experiencing the interactions between them.
The tour begins in the Turkmenistan capital of Ashgabat, for a city tour, before heading to Darvaza, better known as the Gates of Hell – the burning crater. You’ll then cross into Uzbekistan to visit the mythical cities of Bukhara and Samarkand. Next on the agenda is to enter Tajikistan to visit Dushanbe, Khujand, and the famous Iskanderkul Lake within the Fann Mountains. Then we depart for Uzbekistan; here, you’ll explore the capital, Tashkent, and its post-soviet theme park. During your time in Osh, you’ll wonder around the best of Kyrgyzstan and its incredible vibe. Finally, the tour concludes in Almaty, the trendiest city of Central Asia, which completely contrasts with the rest of the region!
You will not only get to meet people as diverse as its geography but bear witness to extraordinarily rich histories and exquisite beauty.
Our Five Stans Budget tour uses our hop on or hops off model, meaning you join or combine the winding route as you like or for the entire adventure to see all of what Central Asia offers.
Extend your adventure with us in Kazakhstan to visit the Semipalatinsk Test Site (STS), more commonly known as the Polygon Nuclear Test Site. This former secretive Soviet nuclear testing ground was the place where some of the world’s most dangerous weapons were researched and tested during the Cold War. You’ll also have an opportunity to explore Astana – the capital city of Kazakhstan.
