Monday 6th October

• Arrival in Bali at own leisure
• Kuta is somewhat infamous as a party place in Bali, and whilst you might not want to stay here too long, for one night it does the trick.
• Overnight in Kuta

Tuesday 7th October 

• We transfer to the airport to board the Citilink QG500 flight at 09.30am to Dili, capital of East Timor with Arrival at 12.20pm, arrange our visas on arrival, before transferring to our accommodation right next to the beach
• Lunch in town
• After some rest, we will drive to the Cristo Rei area to people watch and observe the amount of people exercising and enjoying their leisure time at this popular spot!
• We will then hike up the famous Cristo Rei walking path to see the large statue that was interestingly gifted by Indonesia.
• Then, take a walk down to the pristine beachfront in Dili where we will grab dinner at one of the restaurants overlooking the sea. Alternatively we venture out for one of our favourite sunset spots and dinner places.
• Overnight in Dili

Wednesday 8th October

• After breakfast at the hotel, we will go for a city tour of Dili including the parliament, presidential palace and old Portuguese architecture
• Visit to the Timor genocide museum, not only a very moving place but essential in understanding the recent history of the nation.
• Visit the World War 2 monument on top of the hill overlooking Dilli and the accompanying small museum which explains a lot of Australia’s complicated history with the Timorese. Enjoy some coffee or a juice in the attached cafe overlooking DIli and the sea!
• Lunch in a traditional Timorese restaurant – eat like the locals do!
• TRIP HIGHLIGHT  We head to the HQ of FRETELIN, the former ruling party of Timor-Leste and will probably have our photos taken for their propaganda! Expect lots of raised fists, and to be called comrade a lot. All very YPT.
• Our local guide continues our driving tour of the city with a visit to the former prison building of the Indonesian army and other sites related to the war of independence.
• Back to the hotel for shower and change before we transfer to the beachside barbecue restaurants to sample how the locals get together for drinks and food. This is street food at its best!
• Walk down the seafront for nighttime beers overlooking the sea
• Overnight at Dili

Thursday 9th October 

• We get up nice and early to board our private bus to Com Beach via the second largest and most important city in the country – Baucau.
• The journey takes around 3 hours with us stopping on the way for pictures opportunities and lunch – including opportunities to snorkle at the beautiful fishing beach callec $1 Beach and feeding some very tame monkeys along the way!
• On arrival in Com Beach, you can stop and check out some of the we check into our bungalows on our very own private beach. This is simple, but also extremely serene.
• Take a hike in the forrest and explore a hidden lake!
• In the evening, we enjoy a home cooked meal with our hosts before grabbing some beers and heading down to our very own private beach for a kickback. The sea has bio phosphorescence, with the water lighting up on your every move.
• Overnight in beachside bungalows at Com beach

Friday 10th October 

• Breakfast at the hotel before the adventure continues
• We take the incredibly scenic drive to the legendary Jaco Island
• There will be lots of chances to stop for pictures in the journey as this is perhaps the most beautiful part of Timor-Leste
• We head out to the uninhabited, but famously beautiful Jaco Island where you can make the most of an essentially deserted piece of paradise!
• Return back to the mainland and head to a nearby town for a fresh local lunch prepared for us.
• Before sunset we continue our journey to the far-east of Timor-Leste
• Again we will stop at a number of scenic stops of the way for photos of ancient caves, wildlife, local vilages and colonial-era churches!
• On arrival in the city we check into our hotel, before a short walking tour of this historic city
• Dinner, drinks and overnight in Baucau

Saturday 11th October

• Breakfast at the hotel before we go out exploring!
• City tour of Baucau including the old colonial building and government house.
• We then head to what is quite a surprising highlight of the trip by visiting the local market.
• Considering this is the second biggest city the market is surprisingly primitive with foreigners rarely venturing here. This offers a lot of opportunities to observe contemporary life as well as interact and speak with the locals
• Lunch in the city, before we head back on the scenic drive to Dili
• On the way back we will stop at scenic site for sunset
• On our late arrival in Dili check into our centrally located hotel
• Dinner and drinks on the waterside of Dili and overnight

Sunday 12th October 

• Free morning in Dili to either do some last-minute shopping (yes we will get you fridge magnets), or simply relax by the beach before we head to Dili Airport for our flight back to Bali
• We take the Citilink QG501 flight at 1.20pm to Bali arriving at 2.10pm in Bali
• Transfer to our hotel in Kuta for a relaxing afternoon
• With it being our last night together, and in Bali we head out for one last YPT BBQ and goodbye drinks.

Monday 13th October 

• End of the tour with YPT able to arrange all sorts of further transportation, accommodation and excursions all throughout South East Asia.
