Siem Reap War Museum is a slightly understated, overpriced and weird museum, BUT it is still worth a visit if your tourist needs are about more than a few old temples.
Officially the Cambodia War Museum it was initially built in 2001 and has had various changes and incarnations since then.
The Cambodia War Museum AKA Siem Reap War Museum
Built in 2001 it was initially popular before being left to waste away somewhat. This would be until 2013 when it would get a bit of renovation.
This was completed by 2018 when the landmine section was added, although this is not to be confused with the Landmine Museum of Siem Reap.
It is located near enough to centre of town and near National Highway 6, which leads you out of the province.

What can you see at the Siem Reap War Museum
Quite frankly there is next to no writing here, nor guides, nor explanation, but what they do have is a whole heap of burned our vehicles, including tanks and the like, which will get most jarheads exited.
Said vehicles come from across the spectrum origin wise, with most vehicles being US, USSR, or Chinese made. This is very representative of the many phases of war that Cambodia went through, finally finishing with the Peoples Republic of Kampuchea and then the Kingdom of Cambodia facing off against the Khmer Rouge.
Yet while there is not all that much explanation, that does not mean it is not worth visiting, with the arrange of vehicles and their abundance helping to show just how much the Khmer people have been through.
