YPT Tours to Saint Helena

Fancy a cruise to an island that time seems to have forgotten? Then join our Saint Helena tours!

Saint Helena holds a pivotal place in history, most notably as the place where Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled from 1815 until his death in 1821. This British Overseas Territory has been under British control since it was discovered uninhabited in 1502 by Portuguese explorer João da Nova. The island’s isolation made it an ideal spot for a strategic naval base and later, a place of banishment for those deemed threats to the British Empire.

The island was formed by volcanic activity. Its landscape is dotted with endemic flora and fauna, including the famous Saint Helena Plover or Wirebird. The climate is typically subtropical with lush vegetation in the interior contrasting with the arid coastal areas.

Our Saint Helena tours will allow you to step back in time as we anchor off Saint Helena for a  couple of days of exploration. You’ll have the opportunity to walk the same streets as Napoleon, witness the island’s unique biodiversity, and catch a glimpse of its untouched beauty.

Independent Saint Helena Tours

Due to its remoteness, our Grand South Atlantic Cruise is the best way to visit Saint Helena: you don’t have to plan anything! But if the dates of our cruise do not fit, it is also possible to reach the island by air. Airlink operates scheduled flights from Johannesburg, South Africa, to Saint Helena Airport (HLE). These flights typically occur once a week, so planning your Saint Helena tours around this schedule is crucial. The flight duration is approximately 5 to 6 hours.
