Equatorial Guinea Tours and Travel for 2025 and 2026

YPT tours to Equatorial Guinea

YPT has been offering Equatorial Guinea Tours of different type since 2018, as part of our expansion on the African continent. Being one of the hardest to get to and most interesting of Central African countries, Equatorial Guinea quickly came into high demand for travellers.

The country is situated at the west coast of Central Africa and is divided into a mainland part and some quite far away located islands. From Bioko Island and the capital city of the country, Malabo, as well as the mainland cities of Bata, Oyala, and Mongomo, it is worth to have an extensive look into this secretive nation.

Bioko Island is of volcanic origin and features lush landscapes, crater lakes, and its biodiversity. Mount Pico Basile, the highest point in the country, rises to 3,011 metres. Spanish, French and Portuguese are all official languages, reflecting the diverse colonial past.

Equatorial Guinea is one of Africa’s largest oil producers, with oil and gas exports dominating its economy and significantly contributing to its relatively high GDP per capita. Despite its small population and a literacy rate exceeding 90%, income inequality remains a significant challenge. The country has been ruled by President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo since 1979, making him one of the world’s longest-serving leaders.

Some even like to draw comparisons between this nation and North Korea, due to its secrecy, military parades, long-standing leaders and family ties, as well as their joint ongoing and healthy international relations. North Korea even has an embassy in the capital city of Malabo.

In recent efforts Equatorial Guinea has started to open up more to the world though. YPT can bring you there for you to form an opinion on your own.
