Monday 28th April – Amman

• Arrive at your own convenience in Amman airport, which is well connected to many countries within Africa, Europe and the rest of the world.
• Self-transfer to our centrally located hotel
• The pre-tour meeting will be held at 6:00pm in the lobby of our hotel to discuss tour itinerary and to meet your fellow travellers and YPT guide.
• In the evening, we’ll head out to try some amazing Jordanian cuisine and wind off the night with drinks and Shisha.

Tuesday 29th April –  Amman – Mt Nebo – Madaba – Petra

Morning

• After an early breakfast at the hotel, we will start our Amman tour.
• Our first stop will be the Citadel, overlooking the city and housing the ruins of different cultures and religions, such as the Church of Hercules, the Byzantine Basilica, etc.
• We’ll then explore the Roman Theater. Dating back to Roman times, it was once able to accommodate 6,000 people and is still in use today.
• As we stroll through the souks in the old city, you can try some serious street food, including a freshly squeezed cane juice, some nuts and dates

Afternoon

• We’ll board our minivan and head to Mount Nebo to admire the spectacular view of the Promised Land, just as Moses did over 2,000 years ago. On a clear day Jerusalem, Jericho and the Dead Sea can be seen. A memorial in Moses’ honour can be found at the entrance to the early Byzantine Christian church where he is believed to have died.
• Our next stop will be Madaba, where we will see the oldest preserved ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land, dating back to the 6th century BC. It is located within the Church of St. George.
• After a three-hours drive, we’ll arrive in Petra and check-in in our comfortable 4* hotel
• For those not too tired, it is possible to see the Petra by Night lightshow, that starts at 8:30pm (extra cost).

Wednesday 30th April – Petra – Amman

Morning

• After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll begin our private transfer to the mind-blowing wonder of the world, Petra.
• On arrival, you’ll pass the Siq, a narrow gorge where you’ll get the first close views of the colourful sandstone, ending at the beautiful Treasury.
• You’ll walk along the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs, the Theatre, all the way down to the Nymphaeum and Qaser El- Bent.
• While we’ll have a local guide, you’ll also have free time to explore on your own at your own pace and take some incredible photographs.

Afternoon

• After returning to the main gate, it will be time for our 3-hour drive back to Amman.
• Dinner and explore the nightlife of Amman
• Overnight in Amman

Thursday 1st May – Amman

• Breakfast at hotel
• Tour concludes: airport drop-offs can be arranged according to your flight details – YPT is also able to arrange post-tour accommodation or advice for a longer exploration in Jordan (such as a Jerash and Dead Sea day trip) and flights.
• Group members booked on our Syria Revolutionary tour will gather at 8:00am in the lobby of the hotel and then to Damascus.
