Muscle Girls Bar Tokyo

Every year I update my best bars in the world list because there are new entrants. I hereby declare that Muscle Girls Bar is now part of that illustrious list..

Said bar was discovered on our recent Fukushima and Extremes of Japan Tour and boy was this an extreme place for a pint.

What is Muscle Girl Bar?

Located in the Toshima City, Ikebukuro area this is one of the places to be, with there also being many a hostess bar represented by Cosplay wearing “ambassadors” outside. We were led here though for Muscle Girls Bar.

One of many weirdly themed bars in the capital Muscle Girls does what it says on the tin, you come in and are greeted by Muscle bound girls waving drinks. Of course though there is much more to the place than this…

Be warned this is not walk in and that tickets will have to be arranged by a local beforehand.

Its all about the show

We were booked in for 9.30 and that is indeed when we got in. For 5000 yen or $30+ we had purchased unlimited drinks, which led me to weak pint of vodka and sour apple.

After this you are then given a punishment menu, which includes getting slapped by a lady, to getting kicked, and a whole weird bunch of stuff in between. One of these was having an orange squeezed on your head, which I must confess I rather enjoyed. I would say that most guests git involved while most all were having fun.

At about the halfway point drinks duly stopped and a Muscle Girl show was put on which consisted of feats of strength, before going full on into pole dancing. Again this was followed by drinks and punishment, before a presentation of the ladies. Said ladies were not all Japanese, with there even being Brazilians.

They were though all very pretty with levels of muscle again being from the huge, to our tiny Andy who was our main server.

The overall Muscle Girl Bar Vibe

As I have stated this will go into my best bars to drink in guide, which is a fairly high compliment in itself! The ladies were lovely and the whole experience felt far from exploitative.

It was also a perfect reflection of the many sides of Japan, particularly the Extremes that we were trying to showcase here.
