Our Ireland Tours also go to the crazy TedFest in March. For the uninitiated, TedFest is a festival celebrated every year on the remote Irish island of Inis Mor, with the festival being an overall homage to everything Father Ted!

Independent Tours to Ireland
At YPT, we are experts in this little green island and, as such we can arrange independent and bespoke Ireland tours, no matter what you’re looking for, from budget tours to complete ones, as well as political and revolutionary Ireland tours, nature-focused tours, or -why not- a tour of the country’s best Irish pubs.
Prices depend on the number of people and what level of accommodation you desire, but YPT can arrange everything you need for a perfect independent trip.
Example of an Ireland Itinerary (6 nights, 7 days)
Day 1 – Dublin, Ireland
- Arrival at your convenience into Dublin
- Pre-tour meeting and get-together with YPT guide and other travellers at the lobby of our centrally located hotel at 6:00pm to go over the tour itinerary and plans for the coming days.
- Head out for dinner, pints in a traditional Irish rebel pub with live Irish music.
- Overnight in Dublin
Day 2 – Dublin
- Breakfast at hotel
- We start our city tour in Dublin. We will visit the GPO, main site of the 1916 Easter, as we learn about the troubled past of the city. We’ll cross the widest bridge in Europe to the other side of the liffey river, where some of the most iconic landmarks are located. We’ll visit Saint Stephen’s green park and the Dublin Castle , which were key locations during the revolution.
Afternoon
- Lunch in a Pub.
- We’ll visit the Kilmainham Gaol, where the leaders of the insurgency where executed, and visit their resting place in Arbour Hill.
- Dinner and drinks in another of the many pubs the capital of Ireland has to offer
- Overnight in Dublin
Day 3 – Dublin – Belfast
- We wake up early to have breakfast at hotel
- We will take the train to Belfast and do a city tour with former fighters from both sides to understand the past and present of the capital city on Northern Ireland, while you can admire to the many political murals in the city
Afternoon
- Lunch
- Free time in the afternoon to explore the city on your own or rest in the hotel.
- Dinner and drinks
- Overnight in Belfast
Day 4 – Belfast – Giant’s Causeway – Derry
- Breakfast at the hotel
- We will stop in the natural wonder of Giant’s Causeway on our way to Derry. 40.000 polygonal shaped basalt columns that inspired the legend of a giant building a path to Scotland.
- In Derry, we will explore the city with former combatants of both sides, similar to Belfast. The city also features many murals, with its own characteristics of the city.
Afternoon
- Lunch
- Walk along the Derry walls, built in the 17th century to prevent attacks.
- Dinner and drinks in the pubs.
- Overnight in Derry
Day 5 – Derry – Galway
- Breakfast at the hotel
- We’ll start our journey to Galway,
- We’ll stop in Sligo for nice pictures of the table mountain of Ben Bulben
Afternoon
- We will stop for luch on the way
- After checking in our hotel, we will go for a city tour, dinner and pub crawl
- Overnight in Galway.
Day 6 – Galway – Limerick
- Breakfast at hotel
- We’ll embark in one of the most beautiful routes in Ireland, crossing County Clare, we’ll stop in the famous Cliffs of Moher, one of the highest in Europe, and the Burren National park, a rocky landscape with unique flora.
Afternoon
- We’ll check in our hotel in Limerick and head for lunch
- We’ll do a city tour in Limerick, visiting the saint john Castle and learning about the little known Soviet of Limerick, that was created in 1919
- Dinner and drinks in Limerick
Day 7 – Limerick – Dublin
- After breakfast we will take the train back to Dublin City
- Tour concludes – YPT is able to arrange post-tour accommodation, advice for flights, or arrange airport drop-off
Bespoke Ireland Tours
Dublin & 1916 Easter rising
Alongside one of our expert guides, walk around the capital of Ireland following the steps of the volunteers that fight for the independence of Ireland, visit the most emblematic and sometimes unknown locations. From the liberty hall to Kilmainham Gaol, you’ll be walking through memorials and witnessing the still visible bullet holes from that time, finishing in some real rebel pubs for a pint of Guinness and great music.
Southern Ireland Tours
From Wexford to Kerry, going through the rebel county of Cork, you’ll learn about one of the first rebellions in Ireland, the Wexford rebellion of 1798, as well as learn about the Anglo-irish war and civil war that followed the 1916 rebellion. Visit the birthplace and death place of Micheal Collins, founder of the first IRA and responsible for the partition treaty. All this while going through the stunning scenery of the south of Ireland, and stopping to some emblematic landmarks like the harbour of Cobh, where the titanic set sailed and the ring of Kerry, with beautiful green fields, lakes and dramatic coastline
The Atlantic Coast
From Limerick, a city mostly known for its castle, but little known for its soviets. Yes, the Irish soviets were a thing in 1919! Learn all about it while walking through this town. Visit the most famous cliffs in County Clare, as well as some other maybe not as tall, but sure less crowded. Stop at the unique Burren area and travel from Connemara, one of the most beautiful national parks, up to Donegal, going through Mayo and Sligo. You can visit some of the not so visited counties, full of amazing landscapes and a lot of rebel history.
Northern Ireland Tours
Cross the border to Northern Ireland, and learn about the troubles from both sides. Visit the two main cities Belfast and Derry, and have a pint with former militants as they tell you about their experiences. You can complete your trip to Northern Ireland visiting some of its natural wonders, the most well known being the Giant causeway.
Ted Fest
For the uninitiated TedFest is a festival celebrated every year on the remote Irish island of Inis Mor, the festival being an overall homage to Father Ted, the famous irish-british sitcom of the 1990s. Every year, up to 350 people gather on a cold wet Irish island to dress up and generally celebrate all things Father Ted. And the organisers like YPT so much, they have not only given us a great deal, but have given us the right to pre-sell the tickets before they go on general sale!
Filming in Ireland
Through our media arm Pioneer Media we can make arrangements for productions, journalists, or others to film within Ireland from big budget to guerrilla productions. We can also arrange meetings in country, as well as correct visas for journalist wishing to do projects within Ireland.
