From January next year, trains are scheduled to run from Dandong to Pyongyang every day of the week, and vice versa too.
This is great news for independent tours (Though unfortunately not so much for American citizens who will still need to fly in and out), making it much easier to travel to North Korea, and giving us a lot more flexibility with dates. Trains will depart Dandong at 11am and are scheduled to arrive in Pyongyang at 5.45 pm Pyongyang time- which is faster than the current trains.
The return leg will leave Pyongyang at 10.40 am and should arrive in Dandong at 4.20 pm Beijing time.
