Our First New Year Not in Nauru

New Year’s in Nauru

It’s crazy to think now that it is four years since we first started toying with the idea of visiting Nauru and the other “least visited countries” of the Pacific Islands. What began initially as a deep fascination into what the least visited country in the world was quickly turned into a YPT obsession into how to visit them. After all, this is what Young Pioneer Tours do; we get you to the weird and wild places of the planet.

Our initial trip had us taking in the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Kiribati and the Solomon Islands. Since then, the trip has expanded to Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Vanuatu, Tuvalu, Guam, American Samoa, Samoa and Tonga. Ideally, for 2020-2021 we were planning to add a few more stops (sorry, they are top secret), but alas, coronavirus got in the way, and we all know how that has played out.

Sadly, this means that for the first time in 4 years, we, or I particularly, will not be doing my new Year ritual at the Menem Hotel, which includes jumping into the hotel pool fully clothed and gatecrashing a Nauruan party. As things currently stand, I will probably still be stuck in Cambodia.

We are therefore excited to say that we fully believe our 2021/2022 4 group Least Visited Countries combo tour will go ahead.

You can see the group here.

We are currently working on a “group 5,” which we hope to be able to announce within the New Year, but rest assured it shall be very off the beaten path.

In order to reserve your spot for this amazing tour now, the only thing that is required is a 50 euro deposit.

New Year’s in Nauru is certainly unlike anywhere else in the world so why not join us in 2021!
